Rice Island Truss Bridge Relocation

Daniel was the Engineer of Record of the design of this truss relocation. The Town of Corydon had the ambitious goal of creating a one-of-a-kind park in their downtown area, using an island within Little Indian Creek. The park, designed by Taylor Siefker Williams Design Group would utilize new playscape technology and integrate nature walks and fields, with repurposed shelters into a brand new park. The truss bridge was used to connect the Town and the Rice Island Park. The truss, abandoned and bypassed in Harrison County, was removed from the river and completely restored and placed over Little Indian Creek. The original stacked stone limestone abutments were harvested and the stone blocks are used as seating areas throughout the park.
