Jim was the Engineer of Record of the design of the Freedom Bridge relocation now located over US25 by Delphi, Indiana. The truss is a long single span 300’ iron Pennsylvania through truss built by the Lafayette Bridge Company. This truss was originally used to replace two spans of a four span covered bridge over the White River in Owen County. This bridge, being placed over a US Highway had to be moved onto its abutments as quickly as possible. With the roadway closed, the bridge was able to be moved into place in three hours. When traveling on US25, this bridge provides a striking visual of how impressive and ornate truss bridges are.
