Daniel was the Engineer of Record on this bridge rehabilitation. This pedestrian bridge is at the crossroad of two iconic walking routes in Indianapolis: the Cultural Trail and the Downtown Canal. After years of use, the decking, stringers and floor beams had become severely deteriorated and the bridge was in need of a facelift. The stringer beams were replaced including a rubber membrane to resist future deterioration, and a new synthetic timber deck was placed, which also added to the riding surface’s durability. With a new paint job, and brand new lighting system, this bridge was elevated to the prestige worthy of its crossroads.
